Corporate Profits Surge!

Yep, they've "surged" back to normal levels.

It was like when I got food poisoning and my weight "surged" back to 142 from 137.

Or if you were really weak after surgery and your bench press "surged" from 80 pounds to 100.

Or you got stuck behind my mom on the interstate as she holds up traffic and you pass and manage to "surge" back to 35 MPH.

Mediocrity is the new excellence!

Does this chart come in a % of profit rather than nominal dollars?
That surge could just be the value of the dollar dropping!

Ooooooo!

VERY GOOD OBSERVATION!

You are correct, we ought to adjust for inflation or at least the size of the economy.

See, proof that we don't need to lower the corporate tax rate. In fact, if they can surge profits while I'm not working we need to up that rate to get back what they're stealing from me.

Sarcasm off...

I'd also like to see that with / without financial service profits so we can see just how much of that profit is actually fictionally derived and of no real value.
