Vintage of Divorce

Much like some charts showing the "vintages" of the various "tranches" of MBS or CDO's and their varying rates of default, Dalrock has once again done his digging and come up with a similar chart, but for that of divorce. In other words depending on what rough era you were married, how quickly did it take to get divorced?

To this day I am amazed at how the 70's just continues to be the worst decade on so many different socio and economic fronts.

A lengthier and longer analysis by Dalrock located here.

The clothing and hairstyles alone are enough to consign the 70's to history's dustbin. My goodness... but what did you expect as the wave of Baby Boomers swept over society? We're still living through paroxysms of their stupidity and bad taste.

This just in:

"WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Obama administration may turn thousands of government-owned foreclosures into rental properties to help boost falling home prices.

The Federal Housing Finance Agency said Wednesday it is seeking input from investors on how to rent homes owned by government-controlled mortgage companies Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and the Federal Housing Administration."

There goes the f'ing neighborhood. Enjoy the decline and your new victim class neighbors. Better than the 70's. I don't think so.

I'm guessing you got ink and baggies. Don't talk about taste Anon if all you got is in your mouth. Sheesh...public education!

The 70's is when the lid came off. Everyone always goes crazy when the lid first comes off (kind of like the Balkans during the 90's).

Prior to the 70's, everyone did what they did because they were told to do it, no questions asked. After the 70's, more thoughtful people did what they did because it make logical sense. Prior to the 70's, people got married because they were told to do so. After the 70's, they got married because they actually liked being with each other.

The 70's was merely the transition between these two states.

Yeah, told by those little things like conscience informed by morality resulting in responsibility. Obviously that "little voice" inside the heads of our parents that told them not to f anything that walks and murder their progeny has now vacated the premiss. Enjoy the decline, you're just as responsible as the previous generations and probably more so.
