My Weekend Prediction of Herman Cain

It will come out that Herman Cain if he did have a sexual harassment complaint filed against him, committed the horrible sin of (GASP!)

ASKING A WOMAN OUT!!!!

or

PROPOSITIONING HER!!!!

It may even come out that over his life Herman Cain has asked out MORE THAN ONE WOMAN!!!!!

Honestly (and at least my guy has the cajones to do this) the best thing would be for him to state;

"Yes, I did ask that young lady out back in 1991. And yes, I would do it again in the exact same circumstances. Why? Because I'm a man and women better get used to that."

Except Cain was and still is a married man. If he "asked her out", then he has shown he was unable to keep his word and promise to his wife. How can we trust him?

The media attack on Cain is very disturbing. In fact, I would not be surprised if this attack actually boosts his polling numbers. People are sick of these left wing media smears.
Remember the Van Jones incident, the NYT refused to even print the story. If Obama was a GOP member, there would be all kinds of media stories regarding his birth certificate and Marxist parents.

The man is running for elected office, not a Sainthood.

Ah, I was misinformed. I thought he was single back then. We will then have to wait and see.

Regardless, the larger point is that I think men (and people in general) are getting sick of the faux sexual harassment claim when it is nothing more than a shakedown.

It will tarnish anybody claiming "sexual harassment" as it rightly should. Cripes, can't handle the occasional joke or can't handle the occasional flirtation or approach, then go live on an island where there are no men. Sheesh!

No doubt there are a lot of shakedowns and hyper feminists going to court over suggestive jokes.

Unfortunately we cannot make an informed decision on the issue until all the people tell the full story.

I say we adopt the same attitude as N.O.W. after Clinton got caught with his cigar up an intern...

If Herman Cain manages to push through a complete replacement of the current tax code, WE SPRING FOR HOOKERS!!!

I know consistency is not a leftist virtue but if "it's just sex" and "it's a private matter that doesn't affect his ability to lead" then why is this even important? Either its important and Bill Clinton is a douchebag or its not important in which case STFU.

Personally, I would have handled this differently regardless of what the cause was. The second the story broke I would have said something like "In the early 1990s the rules of what was acceptable within workplaces was evolving rapidly. We did not have the same level of training or awareness of sexual harassment that we have today. At this time I make a few mistakes and unintentially offended a woman which resulted in a minor out of court settlement."

Ideally, what caused the offence could be characterized as a joke because admitting to making a joke 20 years ago and unintentionally offending a woman would hardly be newsworthy.

Looks like it may be more than just an off-color joke. If someone is willing to go public, this may get interesting. However, unlike with Bill Clinton and Jennifer Flowers, the woman will not be labeled as a bimbo and Cain will not be defended by the "mainstream media".

The press has ZERO credibility on this one.

The only question is whether the smear came from another Republican (e.g Perry) or the Democrats.

Until the sources are named and their claims are validated, this story should have never been published.

I'm not thrilled with any of the candidates, but it doesn't really matter, because I'm a charter member of the Anybody But Obama club.

Gee, we now have ex-governor Corzine under investigation and not one of the media outlets identify his party. If he were a Republican, it would have been in the first paragraph or the Headline.

While we're at it, I have a theory for the captain to examine. It appears to me that the root of all evil in business comes from either high level McKinsey consultants and executives or from former Goldman Sachs executives. I also have to add Jamie Gorelick too - everywhere she's gone she's made a lot of money and been at least partially responsible for major disasters.

Sexual harassment basically means saying anything that might offend a woman so it's a bogus thing. However I am disturbed by Cain's double talk about the fed bailout and how he was happy to be a high ranking cog in the federal reserve system. He's not a man I think would go after the bankers or make the kinds of corporate reforms that are necessary. Captain, can you write something about why you think Cain is worth supporting (besides lowering the corporate tax rate)? Even his 999 plan makes me leery since I see that getting digested by congress into "let's have a national sales tax too!".

I'm just waiting to use the line, "Yes, I slept with that woman, and it was the best piece of ass I every had."

Just one more example of little girls trying to bring a big man down.

This seems like the weakest sex scandal ever, but that said, it's like nobody notices the actual sin here.

The problem isn't that Cain asked a woman to his room -- hell in some companies that's encouraged.

It's that he was at the level of her supervisor (or possibly actually her supervisor). And that IS sexual harassment, and it IS bad for business, and NO company digs it, and if he says, yeah and I'd do it again, then he is a complete ass. You can't bitch about nepotism then say, but a "real man" should be able to try to bang his subordinates, people. That's retarded.
