More of the Captain's Advice for Women

OK, so I was just lectured for calling a woman "Kid."

As in the context, "Hey, Kid, what's going on?"

Or as in "Good to see ya, Kid."

She said it was degrading to women.

And the only reason I feel compelled to write about this is because literally about a decade ago the same thing happened to me when I was a young 22 year old.

So here's my advice women, particularly the younger uncultured ones.

"Kid" is not a degrading term.

It is a term of endearment.

And if you had any culture about you, you would realize its origins come from Casablanca.

I'm a woman, and would you like to know what really offends me? People who are easily offended offend me! It's about time members of this society, men and women alike, especially of my generation, removed that pinecone they've got shoved up their...posteriors, and got over it! I would like to know how we define ourselves as individuals anymore, when most people can take someone's words, completely disregard any intent or true meaning, and somehow allow their self-image and self-esteem to be devastated by an unknown force from a mal-intent that may have never existed in the first place.

I would love to have some good lookin' fella' call me kid.

Right-o. I've been calling my little sister "kid" since we were, well, kids. We're 41 & 33 now, and it still gives her a smile.

Few things are more helpless, more clueless and more selfish than your average 18 to 21 year old upper middle class spoiled-rotten girl.

That excludes you, anonymous.
