Definitely thought this was some kind of anime bullshit for a minute.

I'm the Cat Dude of Michigan, and I couldn't care less if women think I'm hot. Cats help a man to go his won way. As do dogs and all other pleasures in this life that require no human companion.

ABC claims "being a cat man is masculine", then shows pictures of feminine looking men and explaining why cats aren't feminine.
It's a bit like a joke: if you have to explain a joke, it's not funny.
The ABC has been going down the far left path for too long.

Oh, come on now. Don't be such an asshole. I mean, what kind of man doesn't like a little pussy?

Besides the Muslim in Chief, of course...

Aren't cats actually predatory creatures who---in the wild---stalk, ambush, trap, and then brutally butcher their chosen prey in order to eat?
And, even domesticated, have been known to do the same for sport, as domesticated animals are well-fed enough to not "have to" do so out of necessity?
Who said felines are "girly"? Think lions, tigers, jaguars, leopards ...
...all quite majestic creatures. And the house cat is but a microcosm of them.

Well stated, Tal Hartsfeld. We remember Animal Planet's Top Ten Most Extreme Killer Cats episode had none other than the "domestic" cat as Number 1. Because they kill everything that they can overpower, and they do it for fun. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQ7h0kmZL9M Some will even bring the corpses of murdered unfortunate animal interlopers to the feet and front door of their "owner." To earn the affection of such a beast is no small feat.

There are men who own cats, dogs, reptiles, fish, birds, pet pigs, whatever. I got a cat since I spend a good deal of time at work, and for a dog who craves social activity it would be, in a way, emotional abuse to the dog. Cats, you can be gone all day.

Having a cat, and one that has over time become quite the cuddler and talker, I can say this much. A dog will love you as its pack leader more than itself, and be loyal to you over its own species. And its instincts compel it to do so. When a cat chooses to warm up to you, it's a decision it has made free of any coersion, you won it over.

I used to have trouble with the concept of free will. Why does God give us a chance to reject him? He would rather have the love of one who chooses him over 1,000,000 who are compelled to do so. But now, that makes total sense.

"A previous study, in 1998, found that men who were identified as liking cats were rated by participants as less masculine and more feminine than men who liked dogs."

Judging from the pictures provided by the article, this is apparently still true.

Notice one thing in those photos; one or at most two cats. Compare that to women.
Also, for a bachelor, they have another advantage, cats are less ''needy'' than dogs. They don't mind being left alone all day at while at work and don't have to be walked. They're also not likely to get jealous of the (new) girlfriend.

I grew up with a passel of 'wild' cats living in our shed and under our house. They were vicious and predatory and arranged in an unforgiving social hierarchy, just like their bigger kin on the African plain. Fun little moody bas'sards. Theyd kill everything that was smaller then them, a few things that were larger, too. But.. They refused to tangle with poisonous snakes. They hiss at 'em from a distance and even follow them around and try to run the off, but weren't about to tangle with death itself. My cats were smart like that.

The issue here is that the men aren't masculine enough to make the contrast of the cat acceptable. I'm a more masculine dude and women go nuts when I handle their cats (so to speak) in a proficient manner. I'm also decent with dogs, but being able to charm a woman's cat is easy and makes a huge impression once you learn how to communicate with cats and read their body language.

Plus cat women are easy to deal with; all you need to do is imitate how their cat treats them; aloof, demanding, with intermittent periods of affection and attention. Like women, cats have more subtle mannerisms and being attuned to how the cat reacts when you interact with it can be applied directly to women.

My parents own cats and I always tell stories about how they hunt down small animals and bring them to me, sometimes still alive within inches of their lives. Then I'll tell them how I rescued the animal and all this shit. Shows them I have a degree of empathy. Then I contrast this by mentioning a story about some stupid ass domesticated dog (that reminds me of a hipster millennial) that couldn't handle being away from home for more than a day.

But yeah, the main thing is that you NEED TO BE MASCULINE FOR THIS TO WORK. You can't be a wispy hipster fag boy. You need to be able to spin this cat thing properly for it to work, and fortunately for me, not a lot of men can do so.

I'd love a response from Captain Capitalism regarding his thoughts on my post.

Great. Now my choice in pets is being politicized and assigned an agenda.
