Rantings and tirades of a frustrated economist.
What ever happened to your Russian women? I miss them. I was able to live vicariously through you.
Sadly, they don't have a sticker to represent 457 pure-bred wiener dogs instead place of a child.
An oustanding catch Mr. Fuller to harken back to that time where I calculated how many pure bred dachshunds you could buy with the money spent raising one child!
It was an excellent piece of trivia, and I have taken much joy in telling new parents that the hundreds of wiener dogs they passed up to have a child would have collectively loved them more than a child ever could, and would have doubtless brought more joy into the world as well. Refuge in audacity.I recently used a 'cost of raising a child' calculator and a shelter price of $150 per dog to calculate the exchange rate where I live. Looks like I could get 1,187 of them instead of a kid. That's enough to have a new puppy every week for eighteen years and still have 251 left over to bear me around town on a throne while I declare myself Lord of All Dogs.
