That is such an incredibly female, snowflake way of debating. "I dislike what statistics tell me and can think of counterexamples. Ergo, the statistical reality is false." If you ever hear people justifying worthless majors, they will very frequently use this argument. "I've heard of a guy at Goldman Sachs who has a sociology degree from (insert mid-tier state school here), ergo you don't need to go to an Ivy League school before they'll even look at you!" Forget the fact that this guy they heard of had incredible family connections and his job is purely the result of nepotism, his job and degree combination prove that the statistics are wrong.
