Rantings and tirades of a frustrated economist.
This still isn't treating "them" as equals. Alimony and child support are barbaric ways to hold someone hostage and trap them in marriage for fear of loss of income.
You don't get all the benefits of marriage and none of the costs. If you leave then you don't get Alimony. It really should be that simple. And no one starts beating their wife after they're married. If they were going to beat their wife, chances are they were beating their gf and she still decided to get married. Most women who leave their husbands do it because they're "bored" not because he's beating her..
But why can't I find a "nice guy." Why won't he man up and marry me! Where have all the good men gone??? Boo-freaking-hoo.
So if you marry a woman with a degree and she stays home for a year and then leaves you, it's your job to provide her with income proportionate to whatever job she might have landed if she hadn't gotten married, given her degree?Way to create disincentives against marrying an educated woman. There won't be any long term negative consequences from that sort of policy, surely."Where have all the good men gone???"They're in the Friend Zone, where you left them.
Oh well, you know what they say Wendy... it's time to grow a set of ovaries, girl! Woman the f*** up!Wow, that was some hilarious stuck-pig sorta squealing there. I don't know why she's worried. Women need a man like a fish needs a bicycle. So what's the problem here?
I was a bit confused when I saw at the top of the article where it said "News", but all I saw was this poor pitiful woman's opinions on how bad this law would be for female mooches like herself. I almost felt sorry for her. She must have seen her meal ticket blowing off in the wind. Very upsetting for sure.
"If she finished medical school, for example, then stayed home to raise children and care for her family, a judge should be able to take into account this lost opportunity and income."So it should be a principle of alimony that a woman should be compensated for an opportunity she didn't want?
