Help the Captain Out

Greetings Junior, Deputy, Aspiring, Official or Otherwise Economists!

Help the ole Captain out here and if you would be so kind, post the LOCAL talk radio show hosts you have in your local town. You know, the local guy that follows after El Rushbo and Hannity are done.

For example in Minneapolis it's Joe Soucheray and Jason Lewis.

Problem is there's no place on the internet to look it up unless you want to look up and surf to each local market radio web site. So I'm trying to compile a list here.

Many thanks in advance. I do appreciate it.

Cpt.

Hmm... In Northern Colorado I believe it is Joe Pags (no idea how to spell it, but it rhymes with "bags".)

You can try Lars Larson. He's got a local program in Oregon and SW Washington as well as a national program.

Chris Daniel on the FM KMJ 1-3pm and AM KMJ 580 5-7pm.
Broadcast out of Fresno.
You should talk to him, he's got the same great snarky attitude, and seems to be enjoying the decline.

Las Vegas pretty much just has KNXT. Most of it is syndicated, but this guy:

http://lasvegas.cbslocal.com/personality/live-local-with-kevin-wall/

does a local show.

Nashville: WTN has Ralph Bristol in the morning, followed by Michael DelGiorno, Dave Ramsey (his home station), and Phil Valentine. On WLAC Steve Gill is on in the mornings. He's the only local one on that station that I know.

Anything else you need could be found at the 610WTVN website.

Let us Central Ohio Cappy-kooks know if you're gonna be on promoting your book, cause that's what I'm guessing.

Glen beat me to it with the Nashville market, but I would remind you to also check out Sirius/XM's talk talent. They syndicate some of the national shows (Hannity, Beck, Savage, et al), but they also have some personalities whose "home" station is XM, such as Mike Church.

In Alberta you would want the Dave Rutherford show. Western Canada in general would be Roy Green or Charles Adler. Clear thinking hosts.

In SLC we have Rod Arquette on 105.7 FM / 570 AM, who leans right and is pretty decent.

Rush & Hannity aren't in Canadian radio (I get them online) but these folks are syndicated NATIONALLY across Canada, and would LOVE to talk about your recent book:

* Charles Adler - Corus Radio Network

* Roy Greene - Corus radio Network

In the "greater Toronto area" these two get a big audience:

* Jerry Agar, CFRB-1010 Toronto (formerly on-air in Chicago; his kids are in U.S. colleges)

* Arlene Bynon - 640AM Toronto - a softspoken killer and sneaks up on liberals and strangles their silliness - you'll love her!

Good luck, Cappy!

Cappy, if you want to try a Canadian venue, there's always SUNTV.

Michael Coren and Ezra Levant have their own shows. Ezra just put out a book, "Ethical Oil" - you guys are definitely on the same wavelength.

The morning here in Atlanta on 640am (there is another talk stations whose people I don't know) are Rob Johnson and Mike Merlino in the morning before Beck and Rusty Humphries after Rush in the afternoon. Rusty is also national on Sirrus/XM.

From Atlanta but widely syndicated is "the mouth of the South, NEIL BOORTZ. H'es got libertarian political views and a huge audience.

Go to the Boortz website and check out "Graduation speech you'll never hear" ... it sounds like your book!

Cappy - you MUST get on the Neal Bootz radio talk show, out of Atlanta and widely syndicated in the South.

Check out his "commencement speech" below for a sample of his thinking and style. Enjoy!

Captain I found your blog last year and have been reading it ever since.

In the Los Angeles/Orange County market KFI and KABC Radio have most of the conservative talkers
KFI 640 AM has:
http://kabc.com/programschedule.asp

Bill Handle 5-9am A Lawyer mostly does law questions from listeners.

Rush Limbaugh 9-12 Very Liberal and very wishy washy on his politics!?!?!?!?!?

Bill Carroll 12-3 Haven't heard him

John & Ken 3-7 The most conservative of the local LA guys and I believe I read the number 1 drive time radio show in the country - they just got off suspension for calling Whitney Houston "a Crack Whore" on the air.

Tim Conway Jr 7-10 He is the son of Tim Conway of the Carrol Burnett show and kind of a Curmudgeon - He has a segment on his show "What Did Jesse Jackson Say" He records his weekly sermons and then plays them back sentence by sentence and the listeners call in and try to repeat what he just said in plain english and boy it ain't a easy game to win! He once said on the air as a disgruntled former LA Unified School District student in the 1970's "Anybody who would willing put there children in the LA School District should be put in jail for child abuse!"

George Noory 10-5am Coast to Coast AM UFO Conspiricies

KABC 790 AM Has:
http://www.kfiam640.com/pages/Program_Schedule.html?feed=449143

Doug McIntyre
5-9am Doug is moderately conservative

John Phillips 9-10 Conservative wanted to bus all the homeless bums out of LA.

Geraldo Rivera 10-12 His politics depend on his mood, definitely not a conservative (His time slot was once Bill O'Reilly's time slot when he did radio.

Sean Hannity 12-3 Bow Before His Patriotism!?!?!?!?!

Larry Elder 3-6 A Black Conservative who has been on the air on KFI and KABC since the early 1990's. Loves to debate anybody on the left.

Mark Levin 6-9 Syndicated out of Wash D.C. Very Very Conservative

Peter Tilden 9-12AM Not sure I don't listen to him so I don't know him well.

It funny Los Angeles is a Democrat County in voting but conservative KFI & KABC are the biggest talk radio stations. I think because where I live in Republican Orange County listeners help to make the station more conservative.

Keep up the good work Captain!!!!!

3-6pm Central (and sometimes beyond), Mark Belling in Milwaukee WI WISN http://www.belling.com/
(Also on iHeart radio)

Subs for Rush on occasion. His local show has more of an edge to it. He can be downright funny at times.
