I'm Not Feeding Your Mistakes...Er "Children"

For the Patron Saint's Name of Frick.

THankfully, the United Way is private, unlike the public schools which force me to feed other people's mistakes children.

I'm glad that the United Way gives to the poor, but I'm none too happy that they took it out of my union dues. Maybe I want to save up and raise a family....with my own hard earned money.

Institutionalized cuckoldry, I say.

I'd give, on the condition that two-parent families got preference over single parent families.

I call it "deficit-fucking", as in having children before you have saved up for them. It's the cause of most, if not the vast majority, of poverty. Then the kids invariably grow up and hate the wealthy all because their own parents deficit-fucked. There's no connection between those who were products of deficit-fucking and surplus-fucking, but socialist politicians want their votes and the deficit-reproduced are becoming a majority.

When I worked at BAE Systems, they seemed to treat United Way as if it were a branch of the company. Although giving was "voluntary", it was best to be out of the office when they came around looking for "gifts".

They brought in this one guy to talk to us about how great U-Way was in helping him with prostate cancer. He came in, fresh from the tennis court, still wearing his outfit and carrying a racket. Pissed me of, having to work in a cubicle and having some guy come in from the tennis court asking for charity.

After that, for any United Way fuction, I'd either schedule an appointment, take the day off, or at the last minute, contact friends asking if they wanted to meet for lunch so I wouldn't be in the office.

It's even worse in the government with CFC. They tried to make me coordinator one year. I said I can't do it for Golden Rule reasons. CFC drives annoy the hell out of me, and I want to treat others the way I want to be treated, thus not annoying the hell out of them with begging for CFC contributions. I also said it's not in my Position Description or objectives, and I'm refusing to do it.

I'm all for charity. I give away a portion of my income on my own causes. I resent these people coming thorugh the office begging for money.

I worked at a company whose employees got the shake down from United Way. They are employer-enabled thugs.
